Co-founded by Melissa Orijin and her daughter, Esi, the company aims to promote self-love and inclusion by offering dolls that authentically represent various skin tones, hair textures, and facial features. The idea for Orijin Bees emerged from Melissa's challenge in finding dolls that resembled her daughter to encourage her self-love journey, leading them to create a brand that fills this gap in the market​
