At Orijin Bees, a Black-owned doll brand, we stand on the shoulders of those who paved the way for us to thrive, particularly the trailblazers in the world of Black toy companies. Our journey is intricately woven into the fabric of history, and we take this opportunity to pay homage to the first Black doll company that dared to challenge the status quo. Founded in the early 1900s, National Negro Doll Company was noted to be the first Black Doll Company. This groundbreaking step not only marked a milestone in the toy industry but also laid the foundation for the emergence of other Black-owned toy companies.

Building on the legacy of National Negro Doll Company, other Black entrepreneurs emerged, carrying the torch forward.
